I think it’s cute when a guy looks out for a girl.
It just means that they don’t want to see their girl be hurt or even see them sad. It’s always cute knowing that no matter what people say about her, he will always stick up for them. Even if some person they know starts to talk bad about her, he will always stick up for her regardless of the relationship with that person. I find it cute when guys do that because it means that they truly do care about the girl.
